Culture Festival gathers together
more than 200 indigenous

Culture FestivalA look at the way of life, their beliefs, dances, food and the beauty of the reserves are present at the First Indigenous Festival of the province of Limón, which gathered yesterday and today, more than 200 persons. The activity takes place at the Joint Social Aid Institute (IMAS) in Limon.Inhabitants of six indigenous territories in the Caribbean and officials from various government institutions are involved in the activity Indigenous groups as cabecares, bribris, kekoldis, telires, nairi awaris and tairí cabécares are assisting to the festival. Between them there were also traditional doctors, handmaids, community leaders, housewives and children.

First draft of TLC becomes a law

With 32 votes in favor and 11 against, last night the Legislature passed into the law the first eleven projects of the implementation agenda of the TLC with the United States, Central America and the Dominican Republic. The Law reform on the Protection of the Foreign Representative Houses won the final endorsement at the 11 pm in a long meeting.

Last Friday, the Board returned the project to the Congress after determining that it has no constitutional defects. Thus, yesterday it was read in the plenary the report of the Constitutional Court and submitted to the second debate, despite the demands of legislators who oppose TLC and its laws.The reform establishes a new framework of relations between the foreign houses and their representatives in our country. Members of PAC warned that this law doesn´t protects the representatives, who are mostly small to medium-sized merchants.
