At your arrival, Costa Rica Guides and Expediciones Tropicales will have a representative past the immigration point at the end of the ramp, waiting for you, holding a visible placard with your last name. Day 2 \u2013 Classic San Jose City Explorer<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This tour show Costa Rica \u0301s culture and history, visiting the Pre-Columbian Gold Museum and historical sites in the city of San Jos\u00e9. For example, the National Theater \u0301s lobby, a patriotic monument built by Costa Rican hands in 1897 also known as \u00abThe Jewel of San Jos\u00e9\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n

We will make stops in several points of equal importance as: the Old Train Station, the National Liquor Factory, the Supreme Court of Elections, Congress, Metallic Building, Central Market, and some parks. In other words, an introduction to our capital city, as well as information about topics of great relevance including economy, culture, politics, religion, and current affairs in general.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our visit ends in a workshop specialized in jewelry and gold pieces, where you will receive a complementary explanation of the techniques used by our ancestors for metallurgical work.<\/span><\/p>\n

Day 3 \u2013 Combo Tour: Po\u00e1s Volcano National Park \/Doka Coffee Tour \/ La Paz Waterfall Gardens<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

To get to the different attractions included during this excursion we will drive by the city of Alajuela.<\/span><\/p>\n

As we ascend towards the Po\u00e1s Volcano we will notice the change in temperature and vegetation; we will see coffee plantations as well as fern, flower, and strawberry farms along the way, creating a beautiful landscape.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the way to the volcano, we will visit Doka Coffee Tour for a delicious breakfast and a coffee tour, in an actual coffee plantation where we will learn about the ancient techniques used by the experts to produce one of the best coffees in Costa Rica.<\/span><\/p>\n

After the coffee tour we will continue to Po\u00e1s Volcano where we will not only admire the impressive main crater with its sulfur fumaroles.<\/span><\/p>\n

The total stay at the park will be 1:30 hours approximately walking on the trek to get to the crater viewpoint and visit to Botos Lagoon.<\/span><\/p>\n

Due to the altitude and activity of the Po\u00e1s Volcano, this tour is not recommended to any person with heart conditions, high blood pressure, people who have had a recent surgery, pregnant women, or children.<\/span><\/p>\n

Following the visit to the volcano we will continue to La Paz Waterfall Gardens for lunch and nature tour. On arrival to the La Paz, we will walk through a trail, leading to a spectacular waterfall in the middle of the rainforest. Inside the park we will also visit the impressive hummingbird gallery, the serpentarium, the bird house and the frog \u0301s exhibit.<\/span><\/p>\n

Day 4 \u2013 Arenal Volcano with Baldi Hot Springs<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Arenal Volcano with Baldi Hot Springs tour is a favorite among travelers.<\/span><\/p>\n

This tour offers the auspicious site of the imposing Arenal Volcano and the soothing thermal waters. On route to the Arenal Volcano there will be a stop in the famous town of Sarchi, known as the birthplace of Costa Rica\u2019s Artisans.<\/span><\/p>\n

In Sarchi, you may see an ox cart that holds the title as being the largest ox cart in the world. We will stop to enjoy lunch at a cozy restaurant.<\/span><\/p>\n

Then you will go on to relax at one of the best hot springs in the area where you will enjoy the rejuvenating effects of the thermal waters.<\/span><\/p>\n

And for a perfect ending, before going back to San Jos\u00e9, a wonderful dinner will be served with a great view of the volcano so that you do not miss any opportunity to look at the stunning and classically shaped volcano one more time.<\/span><\/p>\n

Day 5 \u2013 Shared transfer to Monteverde area.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Monteverde means Green Mountain in Spanish, and rightly so, as it is a lush, misty, and cloudy small town nestled in the North Region at the edge of the Tilar\u00e1n range, 110 miles from San Jose, but well worth the trek, as it is considered a premiere ecotourism destination. Newsweek recently named it as one of the 100 Places to Remember before They Disappear, appearing as the Americas\u2019 No. 14. National Geographic has named it the \u201cthe jewel in the crown of cloud forest reserves.\u201d It is no surprise that tourists and naturalists flock to this region to experience the captivating natural beauty, and unrivaled biodiversity that is Monteverde.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Preserve was created in 1972, and is a 10,500-hectares region, composed of 90% untouched virgin forest, and thus considered one of the regions most prized travel locations.<\/span><\/p>\n

Monteverde\u00b4s variable climate and high altitude has helped to produce an extremely high level of biodiversity. It is home to 2500 plant species \u2013 containing an unprecedented 34 out of 500 species worldwide, the highest concentration in any area.<\/span><\/p>\n

The region boasts 100 species of mammals, 400 species of birds, 120 reptilian and amphibian species, and thousands of insects.<\/span><\/p>\n
