Rental Cars<\/span><\/strong>
\nRental cars are very common in Costa Rica, especially 4×4 vehicles, which are ideal for traveling on rural roads. You can find rental cars available at the airport, in the city of San Jos\u00e9, and in other popular tourist destinations. While the conditions of the main roads are generally acceptable, many rural routes have deep potholes and rough terrain, making a 4×4 the safest and most comfortable option for traveling.
\nTraffic in downtown San Jos\u00e9 can often be heavy, which may be challenging for travelers. Although public transportation is accessible and can take you almost anywhere in the country, it is not the most recommended option for exploring rural areas, as the frequency and comfort of the service may be limited. For this reason, many tourists opt to use public transportation within the Metropolitan Area and then rent a 4×4 car to explore the more remote destinations of Costa Rica.<\/span><\/p>\n
