Self-Drive Tours are ideal for those who like to vacation at their own pace, stop on different towns and attractions that were not planned but may be interesting to visit.  This type of vacationing is preferred by many new and frequent Costa Rica visitors.

You can buy a self drive package with all the hotels prebooked, so you will be worry free about accommodation during your Costa Rica vacation or you may also request a flexible voucher that will give you the freedom to choose any hotel within a list of over 60 alternatives. The flexi voucher or open voucher is recommended mostly for the Costa Rica low season period, since hotels that accept this type of voucher do not accept reservations in advance and sometimes it may be difficult to get a room.

These alternatives of self-drive will give you the benefit of getting better rates than if you had to contact hotel by hotel or the car rental company directly.

Below is one suggested self-drive package. The package below may be modified in length of days or type of hotels according to your travel needs.
