FIFA endorses the order and balance of the defensive team

The order and balance of the collective defensive group of Costa Rica in the recent World Child in South Korea between August and September were commended by the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA).

Sports NewsThe seven members of the Technical Study Group concluded in their comprehensive report of competition, that Costa Rica exhibited a "defense very disciplined and well organized" in AsiaNacion.com.

As in Peru 2005, the Central American team presented themselves very well prepared for Korea 2007, which enabled them to close the best matches with their group rivals.

In the comprehensive report of 90 pages, analysts of the FIFA gave Costa Rica team positive points for the air power, the rapid transition, the defense to attack and the armed balanced.

“Costa Rica had a clever game with combinations, excellent technique, good team spirit and great determination, "said the technical report.

However, in the balance of the group A, which was shared with Togo (equaled 1-1), with the host South Korea (won 2-0) and with Peru (lost 0-1), they criticized their lack of concentration, which led goal against the Incas, in the first phase, and both goals in Argentina (lost 0-2), in the last sixteen minutes.

"One goal in the last minute deprived them of the first place, the group matched against Peru, but were due to the devolution, more than a drop in the physical performance," highlighted the FIFA.

Before Argentina, the team was limited by the strength of the opponent groups and received two goals after the failures and two consecutive corner kicks.

Costa Rica advanced for the fourth time in the following second stage in a World Child Football play (2001, 2003, 2005 and now in 2007).

In the official website and in the technical report, FIFA praised the defenders Jessy Roy Smith and Peralta, the flyers Diego Brenes and David Guzman, and the striker Mark Ureña.
