Take the Pan-American Highway towards the city of Alajuela, passing by the international airport, the Juan Santamaría Monument, and the famous Mango Park. As we ascend, we will notice a change in temperature and vegetation; we will see coffee plantations, ferns, flowers, and strawberries, creating a beautiful array of colors and textures.
We’ll continue our journey to La Paz Waterfall Gardens. Upon arrival, we’ll follow a beautiful trail leading to the park’s various attractions, including the aviary, the largest butterfly observatory in the country, the hummingbird gallery, the serpentarium, and exhibits featuring frogs, monkeys, and felines.
Next, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch surrounded by the lush nature of the rainforest. After lunch, we’ll hike along trails surrounded by tropical vegetation to visit the impressive natural waterfalls formed by the La Paz River, considered among the most beautiful in Costa Rica.
Please note that this hike takes place in a humid tropical rainforest and includes some sections with stairs. However, the trails are paved and well-maintained to provide a safe and enjoyable experience.
Estimated return time to San José: 6:30 p.m. (subject to traffic and weather conditions).
Policies for Infants and Children
Infants (ages 0–2): $20.00 + VAT (includes a seat in the minibus and an appropriate child seat). Meals are the responsibility of the parents.
Children (ages 3–10): 75% of the established rate for each service.
Ages 11 and up: Adult rate applies.
