At your arrival, Costa Rica Guides and Expediciones Tropicales will have a representative past the immigration point at the end of the ramp, waiting for you, holding a visible placard with your last name. The representative will not be able to provide assistance with your luggage inside the airport, as you’re the only person permitted to do so.
Once you have exited the airport, our driver will gladly assist you with your luggage and private transportation to the hotel in San Jose.

San José City Tour.
Overnight in San José.
 This tour immerses you in the rich Costa Rican culture and history by experiencing the beautiful museums and historical sites of San José. It begins with an orientation and drive through the beautiful Sabana Park. Next, we will take a walking tour through the historic National Theater. Completed in 1897, the theater is a masterpiece in art and architecture. Afterwards we will visit one of the many unique museums of Costa Rica.
We will continue heading to the University of Costa Rica, the Supreme Court and various sites of interest. A brief stop will be made in a beautiful art craft shopping store allowing you to browse through it before returning to your hotel and why not, buy some souvenirs for those who are expecting you back at home.

Poás Volcano National Park /Doka/Grecia/Sarchí Tour.
Overnight in San José.
On route to the Poás Volcano National Park we will drive by the city of Alajuela to see the Agriculture  Monument, the Monument to Juan Santamaria and the famous Mango Park. As we ascend towards the volcano we will notice the change in temperature and vegetation, preparing us for the pleasure of the exuberant cloud forest of the Poás Volcano.
On the road to the volcano besides coffee plantations, we will also see fern, flower and strawberry farms along the way.
At the Volcano we will not only have time to admire the impressive main crater with its sulfur fumaroles, but also to walk to the beautiful Botos Lagoon, and to learn about the different ecosystems in the park.
Following the visit to the volcano we will continue to Doka Coffee Estate, an actual coffee plantation where we will learn about the ancient techniques used by the experts to produce one of the best coffees in Costa Rica.
Learn about the careful process involved on the cultivation, harvesting and roasting of the Golden Bean.
 After the coffee tour enjoy a delicious lunch followed by a visit to Grecia, considered one of the cleanest towns of Latin America and home of the only Metal Church in Central America, a national monument that the inhabitants of this town feel proud of. The tour of Grecia will end with a visit to its Central Market.
This excursion will continue to Sarchí, known as the Cradle of Costa Rican Artisans because of its fine workshops. Here we will have time to enjoy the artistic work of the local artisans, learn about the famous hand painted Costa Rican oxcart and shop for that special souvenir to take home.

Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve.
Private non-profit reserve (not a national park) administered by the Tropical Science Center. There are 6 distinct ecological zones in this reserve. It is called a cloud forest rather than a rain forest because of its altitude: the clouds go thru the forest. The canopy is extremely rich with birds, insects, butterflies, and thousands of plants. Great bird watching, in Monteverde Costa Rica Cloud forest are found more than 100 species of mammals including 5 species of cats, over 400 species of birds including 30 kinds of hummingbirds, tens of thousands of insect species (over 5000 species of moths) and 2,500 species of plants (420 kinds of orchids).
The area is acclaimed as one of the most outstanding wildlife refuges in the New World Tropics.

 Manuel Antonio National Park is deservedly the most popular park in Costa Rica with beautiful white sand beaches surrounded by emerald waters and jungle.
