Transfer from International Airport to your hotel in San José.
Overnight in San Jose.
After exiting the plane, and pass the immigration point look for a person at the end of the ramp holding a placard with your last name.
Costa Rica Guides and Expediciones Tropicales will make special arrangements to have a representative from Expediciones Tropicales in the entry of the airport. These persons cannot, however, provide assistance with your bags, as you are the only person permitted to handle your luggage while you are inside the airport.
Outside the arrivals area, look for our representative from Expediciones Tropicales who will be holding a placard with your last name on. Our driver will provide assistance with luggage and private transportation to the hotel in San Jose. |

 San José City Tour (in the morning or afternoon, as your convenience).
This tour immerses you in the rich Costa Rican culture and history by experiencing the beautiful museums and historical sites of San José. It begins with an orientation and drive through the beautiful Sabana Park. Next, we will take a walking tour through the historic National Theater. Completed in 1897, the theater is a masterpiece in art and architecture. Afterwards we will visit one of the many unique museums of Costa Rica.
We will continue heading to the University of Costa Rica, the Supreme Court and various sites of interest. A brief stop will be made in a beautiful art craft shopping store allowing you to browse through it before returning to your hotel and why not, buy some souvenirs for those who are expecting you back at home.

The Poas Volcano is one of the world's largest geysers with an awesome crater, over 1.5 km. wide! The volcano is active, but completely safe for viewing. This tour begins with a beautiful drive through the lush coffee plantations and flower farms of the area.
In addition to the volcano, the Poas National Park is a 9,884-acre reserve with rich tropical vegetation and animal life. The tour includes a hike through the surrounding forest that is teeming with typical plant life and exotic birds. The hike concludes at a restful, emerald green, tropical lagoon.
Next, we will tour the fascinating craftsman factories of Sarchi; where they build the famous oxcarts of Costa Rica.
Splendidly decorated and in various sizes, these oxcarts are treasured worldwide for their unique beauty. You will not want to leave Costa Rica without one!

Private non-profit reserve (not a national park) administered by the Tropical Science Center. There are 6 distinct ecological zones in this reserve. It is called a cloud forest rather than a rain forest because of its altitude: the clouds go thru the forest. The canopy is extremely rich with birds, insects, butterfly, and thousands of plants.
