Poás Volcano National Park + Doka Coffee Estate + La Paz Waterfall Gardens

After breakfast, we will head toward the mountains of the province of Alajuela, where the landscape gradually changes as we climb toward the highlands.

Along the way, coffee plantations, flower crops, ferns and strawberries will appear, accompanied by the characteristic green landscape of the Costa Rican mountains.

Our first experience will be at Doka Coffee Estate, an authentic coffee plantation. Here we will learn about the fascinating process behind one of Costa Rica's most renowned beverages, from cultivation and harvesting to processing and preparation.

In addition, we will enjoy a delicious breakfast surrounded by the landscape of the coffee mountains.

The impressive Poás Volcano

We will continue our tour toward Poás Volcano National Park, one of the most spectacular volcanic settings in the country.

From the visitor area we will take a walk to the crater lookout, where we can contemplate the enormous main crater and its sulfur fumaroles. The tour also allows us to see Botos Lagoon, surrounded by the characteristic cloud forest of the highlands.

The combination of volcanoes, mist, lush vegetation and cool temperatures creates an experience completely different from that of the lower-altitude tropical areas.

La Paz Waterfall Gardens

After the volcano we will continue to La Paz Waterfall Gardens, where we will enjoy lunch and a walk through the rainforest.

A trail surrounded by tropical vegetation will take us to a spectacular waterfall that cascades through the jungle. During the visit we will also be able to see the hummingbird gallery, the serpentarium, the aviary and the area dedicated to frogs.

A perfect day to discover three great treasures of Costa Rica: coffee, volcanoes and tropical forest.

Today is the time to raise the adrenaline.

After breakfast we will travel to the Sarapiquí region, an area known for its lush nature and its excellent opportunities to enjoy adventure activities.

Flying over the jungle

The first experience will be a thrilling Canopy Tour.

Along several cables suspended over the forest you will be able to glide among the treetops and contemplate the jungle from a completely different perspective.

The tour features nine cables of different lengths and culminates with a spectacular crossing over the Sarapiquí River.

Rafting on the Sarapiquí River

After lunch it is time to get into the water.

We will descend the Sarapiquí River, facing class II and III rapids over approximately nine miles.

The experience combines thrilling rapids with calmer stretches where you can enjoy the tropical landscape that surrounds the river.

It is an adventure that perfectly combines adrenaline, nature and fun.

Arenal Volcano + Sarchí + Baldi Hot Springs

Today we will discover one of the most emblematic landscapes of Costa Rica: the majestic Arenal Volcano.

The tour begins by crossing different landscapes of the Central Valley until reaching Sarchí, a picturesque town recognized as one of the main craft centers of Costa Rica.

Here we will be able to see the traditional typical Costa Rican oxcart and admire one of the largest ox-drawn carts in the world.

Afterwards we will continue on our way to the Arenal Volcano area, where we will enjoy lunch at a cozy restaurant.

Relaxation in the hot springs

In the afternoon one of the most relaxing moments of the trip will arrive.

We will head to Baldi Hot Springs, where you can immerse yourself in thermal pools naturally heated by the region's volcanic activity.

Surrounded by lush tropical vegetation and with the setting of the Arenal Volcano as the centerpiece, this will be the perfect time to relax after the days of adventure.

To close the day we will enjoy a delicious dinner with a spectacular view of the volcano, whenever weather conditions allow it to be seen.

City Tour of San José

After breakfast we will spend the day discovering the Costa Rican capital and getting to know some of the places that help us understand the country's history, culture and traditions.

We will visit the Pre-Columbian Gold Museum and various historic sites of San José.

Among them stands out the majestic National Theater, one of the most emblematic buildings of Costa Rica and known as one of the architectural jewels of the capital.

During the tour we will also see places of historical and cultural importance such as the old railway station, the building of the former National Liquor Factory, the Supreme Electoral Tribunal, the Congress, the Metallic Building, the Central Market and various parks of the city.

More than a tourist visit, it will be an opportunity to learn about the history and evolution of Costa Rica, as well as aspects of its culture, economy and daily life.

The visit will end at a workshop specializing in jewelry and gold pieces, where we will learn about the metalworking techniques used by the indigenous peoples of Costa Rica.

After several days full of experiences, today you will have time to enjoy Costa Rica at your own pace.

You can relax at the hotel, walk around San José, visit a museum, discover local markets and shops or simply enjoy a Costa Rican coffee.
