After breakfast we will begin exploring San José, the Costa Rican capital.

Before venturing into the country's forests and volcanoes, we will get to know the cultural and historical side of Costa Rica.

The capital from a different perspective

We will begin with a visit to La Sabana Metropolitan Park, one of the capital's main green spaces.

Afterwards we will visit the National Museum, housed in a historic building constructed in 1897.

Along the way we will see various points of interest, including:

The University of Costa Rica.

The Supreme Court of Justice.

Museums and historic buildings.

Different landmarks representative of the city.

A crafts shop where you can find souvenirs of Costa Rica.

This tour is an excellent introduction to the country's history, culture and daily life.

Overnight in San José.

Today we leave the city behind to head into the mountains of the Central Valley.

The landscape changes quickly.

Urban streets give way to green mountains, plantations and small communities.

Poás Volcano

Our first great experience will be Poás Volcano National Park.

Here you can admire one of the most impressive volcanic craters in Costa Rica.

The high-altitude landscape, the vegetation and the volcanic activity create a setting completely different from what you will find in other regions of the country.

We will follow the designated trail to reach the crater lookout and, when conditions and regulations allow, we will also visit the trail to Botos Lagoon.

Sarchí: the cradle of Costa Rican craftsmanship

After the volcano we will continue on to Sarchí, a town renowned for its craft tradition.

Here wood, color and traditional designs are part of the local identity.

We will see the work of the artisans who make the famous typical Costa Rican oxcarts, one of the most recognizable symbols of the country's rural culture.

You will have time to watch the craft process and look for a special souvenir to take home.

Overnight in San José.

Today begins one of the most special stages of the trip.

After breakfast we will leave San José heading for the Costa Rican Caribbean.

The route will take us through the impressive Braulio Carrillo National Park, where the road crosses a mountainous landscape covered in forest.

During the journey we will be able to see how the vegetation changes as we approach the Caribbean lowlands.

The final stretch is by water

On reaching the boarding point, the car ceases to be the protagonist.

Here the real adventure begins.

We will board a boat to navigate the Tortuguero Canals.

The jungle stretches out on both sides of the water and the trip lets you observe a landscape that practically cannot be appreciated from a road.

Monkeys, birds, reptiles and other species may appear among the vegetation.

Welcome to Tortuguero

On arriving at the lodge we will enjoy lunch.

Afterwards we will have the chance to visit the small village of Tortuguero, visit the museum and go down to the beach.

At the end of the day we will enjoy dinner at the lodge.

Tonight you will sleep surrounded by the nature of the Caribbean.

Today we will wake surrounded by the sounds of the jungle.

Tortuguero is a place where nature sets the rhythm of the day.

Walking in the forest

We will take an excursion through the Tortuguero National Park area, where we can experience different environments of the tropical forest and learn about the region's extraordinary biodiversity.

The humidity, the lush vegetation and the sounds of the jungle create an atmosphere completely different from the one we experienced in the Central Valley.

The canals as pathways

Depending on the lodge's schedule, you may also enjoy boat trips through the canals.

These canals are one of the best ways to observe the wildlife of Tortuguero.

As we move slowly along the water, you will need to keep your eyes open.

A branch may hide an iguana.

A monkey may appear among the leaves.

And different species of birds may cross the sky.

After lunch you will have time to enjoy the lodge's private trails, relax or simply contemplate nature.

A day to disconnect from the world and connect with the jungle.

Overnight in Tortuguero.

After breakfast we will begin our transfer to the Arenal Volcano region.

The first stretch will again be by water.

We will sail from the lodge to the dock where our land transport is waiting.

From here the landscape will begin to change.

We will leave behind the humid Caribbean environment to head toward the volcanic lands of the north.

Toward Arenal

The Arenal region is one of Costa Rica's great natural settings.

As we approach La Fortuna, the silhouette of the volcano begins to dominate the landscape.

After arriving at the hotel you will have time to rest and enjoy the surroundings.

Today we will get an up-close look at the Arenal Volcano region.

Its characteristic conical shape has become one of the great symbols of Costa Rica.

The landscape surrounding it combines tropical forest, mountains, rivers and lands of volcanic origin.

An afternoon of relaxation

After exploring the area we will continue on to Baldi Hot Springs.

Here you can immerse yourself in thermal waters heated naturally by the region's geothermal activity.

The various pools are surrounded by tropical vegetation and offer the perfect setting to relax.

After several days of adventure, it will be time to slow down.

Relax. Breathe. Look at the mountains.

And enjoy the nature that surrounds you.

The day will end with dinner before returning to the hotel.

Today we leave the Arenal Volcano behind to ascend toward the mountains of Monteverde.

The landscape changes once again.

The air becomes cooler, clouds appear and the vegetation takes on an increasingly lush appearance.

Welcome to the cloud forest

Monteverde is one of the most fascinating ecosystems in Costa Rica.

The humidity and the altitude allow trees, ferns, bromeliads, mosses and other plants to grow in abundance.

The clouds literally pass through the forest and create that characteristic mysterious atmosphere that has made Monteverde one of the country's most renowned natural destinations.

On arrival you will have the afternoon free.

You can explore the town, enjoy a coffee, walk around the surroundings or simply rest.

Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve

Today we will venture into one of the most special natural environments in Costa Rica.

We will visit the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, where different ecological zones form an extraordinarily rich mosaic of habitats.

A forest that lives among the clouds

The mist is part of the landscape.

Water condenses on the leaves, the trees are covered in moss and bromeliads grow on the branches.

The forest is full of life.

Birds.

Butterflies.

Insects.

Plants.

And a great variety of species that depend on this delicate ecosystem.

Our guide will help us understand how the forest works and discover some of its inhabitants.

An experience to observe calmly

In Monteverde it is not always about quickly finding an animal.

Sometimes the adventure consists of stopping.

Listening. Observing.

And letting the forest gradually reveal its secrets.

Today we will begin descending from the mountains toward the coast.

The temperature rises. The vegetation changes.

And little by little the mountains give way to the tropical landscape of the Central Pacific.

Our destination will be Quepos – Manuel Antonio.

The Pacific awaits you

After several days among volcanoes, canals and mountains, arriving at the coast means a complete change of scenery.

You will have the afternoon free to settle into the hotel, rest or begin enjoying the beach.

You can walk around the surroundings, gaze at the ocean or simply enjoy a quiet afternoon.

Manuel Antonio National Park

Today we will experience one of the most anticipated highlights of the trip. We will visit Manuel Antonio National Park.

A tropical forest full of life

Our naturalist guides will accompany us during the walk along the park's trails.

In addition to explaining the history and geography of the region, they will help spot some of the species that inhabit the forest.

With a little luck we may observe:

Sloths.

Monkeys.

Iguanas.

Raccoons.

Different species of birds.

Insects and butterflies.

But Manuel Antonio has something that makes it especially spectacular.

The jungle ends at the beach

After walking through the forest we will reach some of the park's famous beaches.

Light-colored sand. Tropical vegetation. Pacific Ocean.

And the chance to relax after the walk.

It is one of the images that best represents the essence of Costa Rica:

The jungle and the sea sharing the same landscape.

Overnight in Manuel Antonio.

Today there is no schedule to follow.

After so many days of exploration, you will have a full day to enjoy Manuel Antonio however you prefer.

You can go back to the beach.

Explore Quepos.

Rest at the hotel.

Enjoy a water activity.

Or simply sit facing the Pacific and let time pass.

Your last day of adventure

You can also take the opportunity to book an additional experience in the area, depending on your interests.

Kayaking, sailing, fishing, surfing and other activities can complement your stay.

Today it's up to you.

Overnight in Manuel Antonio.

After breakfast we will begin our return to San José.

It will be the last major leg of the trip.

As we head toward the Central Valley, you will be able to see how the landscape transforms once again.

The tropical coast is left behind. The mountains reappear. And finally we will return to the capital.

You will have the afternoon free to rest, do some last-minute shopping or enjoy a final night in Costa Rica.

After breakfast the time will come to say goodbye.

Our private transfer will take you from your hotel to Juan Santamaría International Airport to catch your return flight.

But after two weeks, you will no longer see Costa Rica the same way.

You will have experienced:

the city, the volcanoes, the mountains, the Caribbean, the canals, the jungle, the hot springs, the cloud forest and the Pacific.

And each region will have shown a different face of the country.

Costa Rica is not a single landscape.

It is a collection of extraordinary worlds gathered in a small territory.
