This tour immerses you in the rich Costa Rican culture and history by experiencing the beautiful museums and historical sites of San José. It begins with an orientation and drive through the beautiful Sabana Park. Next, we will take a walking tour through the historic National Theater. Completed in 1897, the theater is a masterpiece in art and architecture. Afterwards we will visit one of the many unique museums of Costa Rica.

We will continue heading to the University of Costa Rica, the Supreme Court and various sites of interest. A brief stop will be made in a beautiful art craft shopping store allowing you to browse through it before returning to your hotel and why not, buy some souvenirs for those who are expecting you back at home.

Poas Volcano We will first drive you through the city of Alajuela passing by the Agriculture Monument, the Monument to Juan Santamaria and the famous Mango Park. On the way to the volcano we will visit Doka Coffee Estate for a delicious breakfast and a coffee tour, in an actual coffee plantation where we will learn about the ancient techniques used by the experts to produce one of the best coffees in Costa Rica.

After the coffee tour we will continue to Poás Volcano where we will not only admire the impressive main crater with its sulfur fumaroles, but also learn about the different ecosystems in this beautiful national park. Following the visit to the volcano we will continue to La Paz Water Fall Garden for lunch and tour. On arrival to the La Paz, we will walk through a trail that leads to a spectacular waterfall in the middle of the rainforest. Inside the park we will also visit the largest butterfly observatory in the country, the impressive hummingbird gallery, the serpentarium, the bird house and the frog’s exhibit. After the tour, you will be transferred to your hotel in San José.

Situated a mere 91 km northwest of San José, the Arenal Volcano is one the most active volcanoes in the Americas. In 1968 it erupted decimating the small town of Baldi.

Shortly after marveling at the magnificent Arenal Volcano, we will visit the Baldi Hot Springs where we will bask in the soothing waters and be caressed by the cool night air while observing the stars and the incredible night sky above the volcano. At a convenient time after your arrival to the resort, we will treat you to a scrumptious dinner and at the end of the evening you will be transferred to your hotel in Arenal.

Transfer to Monteverde, a cloud forest wildlife sanctuary rich in biodiversity and natural beauty.

Morning excursion to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve: a private, non-profit reserve managed by the Tropical Science Center. The reserve is home to a wide variety of birds, insects, butterflies and plants, making it an ideal visit for wildlife watching.

Breakfast included at the hotel. Shared transfer from Monteverde to San José. Rest of the day free to enjoy the city and its surroundings. Overnight in San José.

Transportation to local airport for a 45-minute flight to Palmar Sur, followed by a 30-minute airport transfer to La Hacienda reception center in Sierpe. Then we will take a scenic 90-minute boat trip down the Sierpe River, where we can admire the mangrove wetlands.

Upon arrival at Casa Corcovado, you will enjoy a complementary welcome cocktail before lunch and you will have time to explore the nature trails and the beach before dinner.

We will return to La Hacienda in Sierpe, where we will take a flight to San José. Once in San José, you will be transferred to your hotel.
