Arrival in San José
Your experience begins as you land at Juan Santamaría International Airport.
After completing the entry procedures, our team will be waiting to welcome you and accompany you on your private transfer to the selected hotel in San José.
It will be time to settle in, rest after the trip and get ready to begin a week full of nature and tropical landscapes.
Overnight in San José.
Discover the secret of Costa Rican coffee
Our first stop will be at Doka Coffee Estate, a traditional coffee farm.
Here we will learn about the process that transforms a small coffee cherry into one of the most appreciated products of Costa Rica.
We will learn about the cultivation, the harvest and the processing of the bean as we tour the plantation and enjoy the mountain scenery.
And, of course, we will have the chance to taste a cup of authentic Costa Rican coffee.
Facing the crater of Poás Volcano
We will continue toward Poás Volcano National Park, one of the country's great geological features.
The volcano is located in the highlands and is surrounded by a cloud forest landscape that changes constantly with the mist.
From the visitor area we can approach the crater lookout, always subject to safety conditions and the park's current regulations.
The combination of volcanic activity, forest and mountain makes this visit one of the essential experiences of the Central Valley.
La Paz Waterfall Gardens
The day will continue at La Paz Waterfall Gardens, where the tropical forest becomes a setting of waterfalls, trails and wildlife.
We will walk the park's paths amid lush tropical vegetation and several impressive waterfalls.
During the visit we will be able to discover different natural environments and observe part of the extraordinary biodiversity that characterizes Costa Rica.
After enjoying this experience we will have time for lunch and to continue our tour.
A day that brings together three great symbols of Costa Rica: coffee, volcanoes and tropical forest.
Overnight in San José.
Rainforest Aerial Tram
Today we will have one of the most unique experiences of the program.
A short distance from San José we will begin ascending toward the mountains, crossing the continental divide and entering the surroundings of Braulio Carrillo National Park.
The landscape changes quickly as the road enters a world of mountains covered in intense, humid vegetation.
A jungle full of life
After approximately an hour and a half of driving we will reach a private rainforest reserve.
From the parking area we will continue to the visitor center, where we will begin to learn about the characteristics of this ecosystem.
Along the way we will be able to observe large trees, tropical vegetation and, with a little luck, some of the numerous species of birds that inhabit the area.
Flying over the canopy
The great experience of the day will be the Rainforest Aerial Tram.
We will board an open cabin that moves slowly over the forest, accompanied by a guide.
For approximately an hour and fifteen minutes we will travel through different levels of the jungle.
From the cabin you will be able to observe a world normally difficult to appreciate from the ground: mosses, ferns, bromeliads, orchids, vines and enormous trees covered in vegetation.
At certain points the route crosses the canopy and lets you contemplate the immensity of the forest from above.
For those who want to delve even deeper into the experience, there is the possibility of taking a naturalist walk of approximately 45 to 90 minutes accompanied by a specialized guide.
An experience to listen to, observe and feel the jungle from a completely different perspective.
Overnight in San José.
Arenal Volcano + Baldi Hot Springs
Today we leave the Central Valley behind to head toward one of the most emblematic destinations in Costa Rica: La Fortuna and the Arenal Volcano.
The landscape will transform as we head north, going from the mountains of the Central Valley to the tropical forests that surround the Arenal region.
The imposing Arenal Volcano
The Arenal Volcano is one of the great natural symbols of Costa Rica.
Its characteristic silhouette dominates the area's landscape and, when weather conditions allow, offers spectacular views from different points along the route.
The region surrounding it combines forests, rivers, fertile lands and small towns, creating a perfect setting to enjoy nature.
An afternoon of relaxation at Baldi
After discovering the volcanic region the time will come to relax.
We will visit Baldi Hot Springs, where we can enjoy its thermal pools surrounded by lush vegetation.
The water, naturally heated by the area's geothermal activity, offers a particularly pleasant experience after a day of travel.
As the afternoon falls you can enjoy the pools and the tropical atmosphere that surrounds the complex.
When night arrives, the setting transforms: the lights, the vegetation and the starry sky create a perfect atmosphere to relax.
Afterwards we will enjoy dinner before continuing to our hotel in the Arenal area.
A perfect combination of volcano, nature, water and relaxation.
Overnight in Arenal.
Arenal – Jacó Beach
After breakfast we will begin the trip toward the Central Pacific coast.
Little by little the volcanic and mountainous landscape will give way to a warmer, more tropical environment.
Our destination will be Jacó Beach, one of the best-known beaches of the Central Pacific of Costa Rica.
On arrival you can settle into the hotel and begin enjoying this coastal destination.
The rest of the day will be free.
You can walk along the beach, rest by the pool, explore the surroundings or simply enjoy the change of pace after several days of excursions.
Overnight in Jacó Beach.
Today there is no rush.
After several days touring volcanoes and forests, you will have a full day to enjoy Jacó however you prefer.
You can spend the morning by the sea, walk along the beach, discover local restaurants and shops or simply relax at the hotel.
You can also take the opportunity to do an optional activity in the area.
The Central Pacific offers numerous possibilities for those seeking a bit more adventure or wishing to explore new corners of the coast.
But if what you want is to rest, this is the perfect day to do it.
Overnight in Jacó Beach.
After breakfast we will temporarily say goodbye to the Pacific and begin the return to San José.
The trip lets you once again enjoy the change of landscapes that characterizes Costa Rica: from the warm atmosphere of the coast to the mountains of the Central Valley.
On arriving in San José you will have the rest of the day free.
You can rest at the hotel, do some last-minute shopping or enjoy a final dinner before your return home.
Overnight in San José.
San José – Juan Santamaría International Airport
After breakfast the time will come to say goodbye.
Our private transfer will take you from the hotel to Juan Santamaría International Airport to catch your return flight.
You will leave Costa Rica with memories of volcanoes, rainforests, waterfalls, hot springs and Pacific beaches.
But, above all, with the feeling of having traveled through an extraordinary variety of landscapes in just a few days.
Thank you for traveling with us.
Pura vida and until next time!
