Description:

Enjoy a fascinating combination of coffee culture, volcanic landscapes, and nature in an experience perfect for those who want to discover two of Costa Rica’s most iconic attractions in a single morning.

As we depart from San José, you’ll experience the contrast between the vibrant urban life and the tranquility of the Costa Rican countryside. Along the way, we’ll travel through fertile agricultural lands characterized by coffee plantations, fern nurseries, ornamental flowers, strawberry fields, and dairy farms that are typical of this beautiful region of the Central Valley.

Our first stop will be at the historic Doka Estate Coffee Mill, one of Costa Rica’s most renowned and traditional coffee plantations. Here, we’ll enjoy a delicious traditional Costa Rican breakfast before beginning a comprehensive tour of the estate.

During the Coffee Tour, you’ll discover firsthand the entire coffee production process, from cultivation and harvesting to processing and roasting. You’ll learn about the traditional techniques passed down through generations of coffee producers to create some of the finest and most renowned coffees in the world. You’ll also discover the historical and economic importance of coffee in Costa Rica’s development.

We’ll then continue to the impressive Poás Volcano National Park, home to one of the largest active volcanic craters in the world. During the ascent, you’ll enjoy spectacular panoramic views and changing vegetation that reflect the region’s remarkable ecological diversity.

Upon reaching the volcano, you’ll have the opportunity to admire the impressive main crater, famous for its fumaroles and geothermal activity. You’ll also explore the park’s designated trails while learning about the area’s volcanic formation and the diverse ecosystems that make Poás Volcano one of Costa Rica’s most visited and iconic national parks.
